Aces Over:
Player has two Ace being the highest pair

Act:
Players turn to Act, bet, check, fold

Action:
Action means a lot of betting, raising etc

Aggressive Play:
When a player makes big bets in an attempt to get other players to fold or steal the blinds

All-In:
Player places all his remaining chips in the pot as a bet or calling a bet

American Airlines (Bullets):
Pair of Aces

Ante:
Are forced bets posted by all players at the table

Back Door Flush /Straight:
Last two cards make a player's hand, even though they played on the flop for some other reason.

Bad Beat:
When a player has the best hand but is beaten by an lucky draw usually the river

Belly Buster:
Another name for an Inside straight draw

Big Slick:
A starting hand of Ace & King

Board:
The community cards that are dealt and used by all the players. 5 cards are dealt on the board. Three first(flop), then another(fourth street) and finally the River(fifth street)

Boat:
Full house

Broadway:
Ace high straight

Burned card:
During the flop the first card is burned before any community cards are turned ?

Button(Dealer Button):
Small disk used to signify the player in the last position if a house dealer is used or the designated dealer.

Calling Station:
Player who keeps calling, and is hard to bluff.

Chase:
To stay in against a stronger hand, hoping to fill a straight or flush

Check:
Pass without betting when no one before you has bet.

Check Raise:
To check and raise in a betting round.

Cold Call:
To call a raise without having already put the initial bet into the pot.

Crack:
To beat a powerful hand.

Drawing Dead:
You've lost, it doesn't matter what remaining cards turn up. Your Beaten.

Drawing Hand:
A potentially strong hand requiring a particular cards from the draw to make it.

Ducks:
Starting hand of a pair of 2's

Early Position:
A position on a round of betting in which you must act before most of the other players aty the table.

Face card:
Any jack, queen, or king

Family pot:
A pot with a lot of players, sometimes as many as all at the table. Also community pot

Feeler:
Small bet made to see if anyone will raise or to determine who will just call

Fish:
Learner player(not experienced) who will lose his chips to the more experienced players at the table.

Flop:
After the first two cards are dealt face down and the initial betting round has finished, three community cards are dealt face up in the centre of the table. These first three cards are known as the flop

Flush:
Five cards of the same suit, not in sequence

Flush Draw:
When a player has 4 of the 5 cards needed to make a flush on the Turn or River

Fold:
When a player does not want to post the required bet to stay in the hand, he/she may return their cards to the dealer (fold) and be out of the hand.

Forest:
Three 3s. (A bunch of trees) or a Forest four 3s

Fourth Street:
This is the fourth card in the flop.

Hole Cards:
2 starting hands dealt face down

Hooks:
Starting hand of 2 jacks

Inside Straight Draw:
Also called Belly Buster/Gut Shot straight draw. A player has four of the five cards needed to make a straight with the four cards not in sequence, e.g. 4,5,7,8. The player needs to draw a 6 on the turn or river to complete his/her straight.

Kicker:
When comparing two hands of the same quality (both 2 pairs), the next highest card in the hand that is not part of the made hand is used to determine the winner. This high, unused card is known as the kicker

Kojacks:
Starting hand of King and Jack

Ladies:
Pair of Queens as a starting hand

Limping in:
Paying the minimum bet required to see the next card/flop

Muck Cards:
Dump your cards so the other players cannot see them

Nut Hand:
Also called the Nuts, the best hand there can be. A nut flush is an Ace high flush. A nut straight is the highest possible straight that can be made using the cards on the board. The nut hand is the best possible hand that can be made using the cards on board

Off Suit:
starting cards with different suits i.e. Spade and Heart

Open ended straight:
Also known as an outside straight draw. Where a player has four of the five cards needed to make a straight with the four cards in sequence, e.g. 6,7,8,9. The player can draw either a 5 or a 10 to complete the straight.

Outside straight Draw:
known as an open-ended straight draw. Where a player has four of the five cards needed to make a straight with the four cards in sequence, e.g. 6,7,8,9. The player can draw either a 5 or a 10 to complete the straight.

Post:
To put a bet on the table, usually means posting your blinds

Rainbow Flop:
Rainbow flop when all the cards flopped are different suits

Raise:
After someone has bet, the following players may raise (bet again) on top of the initial bet, raising the required amount for people to stay in the hand

Represent:
Play/bet like you have certain cards,for instance an Ace or pair of Aces come out on the flop and a player bets to make the other players think he has an Ace or made hand

Re-Raise:
Raise after a previous has raised

River:
Final community card. This fifth card ends the dealing of the cards and begins the final round of betting. Also known as FIFTH STREET

Shark:
Experienced player who prey on the inexperienced "Fish" relieving them of their chips.

Showdown:
After all the cards are dealt and the betting has completed, the players show their cards and the winner is decided

Side Pot:
When one player is all-in and is called by more than one opponent. If these opponents want to raise again, the difference in stakes is called a side pot

Slowplay:
Act as if you have a lesser hand on earlier rounds to fool the other players in preparation for playing more aggressively on later betting rounds

Snowman:
Pair of 8's as starting hand

Stealing Blinds:
Player bets a big raise or all in to get the other players to fold and win the pot before the flop comes

Straight:
Five consecutive cards of mixed suits.

Straight Flush:
Five consecutive cards of the same suit.

String Bet:
An illegal bet in which a player puts some chips in the pot, without having first verbally stated the full amount of his bet. Try to increase the bet having placed small amount of chips in the pot

Suck Out:
Win a hand by hitting a very weak draw, often with poor pot odds.

Suited:
Player has 2 suited cards 2 Hearts, 2 Spades, 2 Clubs or 2 Diamonds

Trips:
Short for triple 3 Aces, 3 Kings etc

Under The Gun:
Player who is first to act. Pre flop it's the player after the big blind, after the flop the flayer to the left dealer (small blind)

Unsuited:
Cards of different suits 1 club, 1 diamond, etc,etc
